History and theater create a suspenseful mix when a Scottish meteorologist is summoned to the headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Force on the eve of the massive D-Day invasion of Normandy in June 1944. James Stagg must convince General Dwight D. Eisenhower that they face two enemies--the Nazis and the fickle English weather. The dialogue is tense and convincing as British actor Jonathan Cake leads a stellar cast in this story of how a lone scientist explained to the army's own weather experts that a sunny day on the English Channel can quickly deteriorate into a fast-moving storm.
